MMDC invites municipal partners across Clare, Isabella, and Osceola counties to join our Municipal Lunch & Learn Series, a three-part program designed to provide practical insights on key economic development topics. Each session offers opportunities to learn from experts, discuss challenges, and support local decision-making.
Session 3: Elective Pay
Join us for a Municipal Lunch & Learn on Elective Pay (also known as Direct Pay), a federal incentive that allows cities, villages, counties, and other tax-exempt public entities to receive cash payments from the IRS for eligible clean energy projects. This session will provide an overview of how municipalities can use Elective Pay to offset the cost of projects such as solar, geothermal, battery storage, and EV charging infrastructure while covering eligibility requirements, bonus credits, and the filing process.
Featured Speaker:
- Frankie Baker – Elective Pay Ambassador, MMDC
Who Should Attend: Elected officials, municipal managers, planning staff, planning commissioners, and other local government professionals. Municipalities are encouraged to coordinate attendance in line with their policies and OMA requirements.
