Middle Michigan Development Corporation (MMDC) announced today that 42 small businesses across Clare, Isabella, and Osceola counties have been selected to receive MMDC Technology Improvement Grants. The program supports local entrepreneurs in upgrading technology, expanding digital capacity, and strengthening operational resilience.
These grants help small businesses adopt modern tools — from software and hardware to cybersecurity and digital connectivity upgrades — enabling them to better serve customers, streamline operations, and stay competitive in an increasingly digital economy.
"Our small businesses are the backbone of our communities and technology is no longer optional — it's essential," said Kati Mora, President & CEO of MMDC. "This year's awardees represent an incredible range of businesses across the counties we serve, all committed to growing through innovation. We're proud to invest in their success."
About the MMDC Technology Improvement Grant Program
The Technology Improvement Grant was created to support small businesses and non-profit organizations with fewer than 50 employees as they integrate new or upgraded technology into daily operations. Funding can be used for digital systems, equipment, online tools, security improvements, and other technology advancements.
