Clare Irish Festival
Centered on St. Patrick’s Day, the Clare Irish Festival will celebrate its 40th year in 2016 with outstanding Irish music, special events, raffles, contests, a 5K and 10K race, great Irish food and a parade that will make everyone feel like they’re Irish.


Cops and Doughnuts
There was a doughnut shop and bakery in Clare, Michigan that had been in constant operation since 1896. This historic business was within weeks of closing when all nine members of the Clare Police Department banded together and came to the rescue to save this business. Dubbed “Cops and Doughnuts,” the business boasts handmade confections of all types. Jay’s Sporting Goods was started by Jay and Arlene Poet in 1971 and is Michigan’s Original Outdoor Superstore. Snow Snake Ski & Golf 
Snow Snake Ski and Golf Resort has 43 acres with six lifts serving 10 runs and a snow tubing park. The ski season runs from November through March, weather permitting. Recent additions to Snow Snake include the Zip Line Tours and the Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park.

Wilson State Park
Wilson State Park is located on 36 wooded acres on the north end of Budd Lake in Clare County. The Clare County Fairgrounds are across from the park and host many activities in the summer. In the winter, the park offers recreation activities such as ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.




Art Walk Central
Art Walk Central is an art competition and an art infusion from August 20-September 10, 2016. The Mt. Pleasant community hosts over 100 artist works that are eligible to win over $10,000 in prizes. In addition to the art competition, Art Walk Central fills the community with art and cultural events for people of all ages. New this year is the inclusion of two community murals that will be painted on downtown buildings by Dillon and Payton Pringle. Other events include Poetry Slam, Storytelling for kids, painting the streets downtown, bead making demonstrations, artist talks, Max & Emily’s Summer Concert and Movies by Moonlight at City Hall.


The Broadway Theater
The Broadway Theater is Mount Pleasant’s oldest movie and community theater. It is supported by the Friends of the Broadway, who renovated and have preserved this historic theater. The Broadway Theater features classic films, concerts and live performances and activities which entertain, educate, and culturally enrich the community.


ICE Arena
The Isabella County Events (ICE) Arena, located at the Isabella Community Sportsplex, hosts adult hockey leagues for 18+ players and figure skating clubs for all ages. They host weekly figure skating drop-ins and open skates for the general public.


Morey Courts Recreation Center
Morey Courts Recreation Center, located at the Isabella Community Sportsplex, has become well known as one of Michigan’s premier recreational facilities. Morey Courts has eight basketball/volleyball courts, three racquetball courts, two tennis courts, a full fitness center, aerobics room, youth exercise room and a walking/jogging track.


Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation
Mt Pleasant boasts one of the finest municipal park systems in Michigan with miles of trails and open spaces. The mission of the City of Mt. Pleasant’s Parks & Recreation department is to improve the character of life in Mt. Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum
The Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum is a 12,000 square foot children’s museum dedicated to establishing a fun, hands-on and educational experience for children of all ages. At the museum, children will engage in subjects such as math, science, world cultures, regional history and the arts.

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Ziibiwing Center
The Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeway’s in Mount Pleasant, Mich. is the Midwest’s Premier American Indian Museum. Established in 2004, the Ziibiwing Center is a distinctive treasure created to provide an enriched, diversified and culturally relevant educational experience through its award-winning Diba Jimooyung (Telling Our Story) permanent exhibit, changing exhibits, research center, Ojibwe language immersion room, gift shop, and meeting rooms. The Ziibiwing Center is a non-profit cultural center and museum belonging to the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.


Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival 
The Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival began in 1958, originally as a one day festival but quickly grew to the current three day festival providing more than 11,000 servings of delicious pancakes, sausage and maple syrup. Festival activities include craft shows, entertainment, children’s activities, museums, tractor pulls, classic car and tractor displays, chainsaw carvings, train and pony rides and an awesome parade.


Soaring Eagle Waterpark and Hotel

The Soaring Eagle Waterpark, which opened in 2012, is a 45,000-square-foot indoor waterpark designed for toddlers, tweens, teens, and adults. Attractions include: FlowRider Surf Indoors!, Loon’s Loop 3 Story Water Slide, Biish Falls 317 Gallon Mega Splash, Little Beaver’s Bend Lazy River, Makwas Mountain Climbing Wall and Hotsprings Adult Hot Tub. The hotel includes 243 guest rooms including a number of family suites that can accommodate up to seven family members.
