Konwinski Cabinets Add State-of-the Art Equipment to Build Upon Years of High-Quality Craftsmanship

Konwinski Cabinets, located in the Mt. Pleasant Industrial Park South, recently modified their shop floor to make room for two new pieces of state of the art equipment. This modification also required upgrades to their facility’s air handling and electrical capacity, resulting in over $250,000 in capital investment made by the company this year.

The company added a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machine and an Edge Bander approximately forty-five days ago and are already seeing increased efficiency and productivity as a result.

The employees at Konwinski Cabinets are currently in process of incorporating the new equipment into their everyday work flow, but have already discovered that the new equipment provides a lot more flexibility than ever before. Upgrades to the air handling and electrical capacity of the building have also contributed to a more positive and efficient experience on the shop floor.

“With customers choosing to work with us project after project, we knew we needed to look at ways we could improve overall efficiency to keep up with demand and be ready for whatever lies on the horizon for us,” states Andy Theisen, Vice President and Co-Owner of Konwinski Construction. “This new equipment allows for members of our team to take on even more custom work as well.”

Konwinski Cabinets tackles a variety of custom projects across the United States. From custom cabinetry at hundreds of Buffalo Wild Wings across the country to solid surface tops for equipment packages produced by Delfield, Konwinski Cabinets is always looking for ways to deliver the best product and experience to its customers, many of whom who have been working with the company for over twenty years.

When asked why customers keep coming back, Theisen credits his entire team for their success. “Our customers recognize just how skilled our talent is here. From the high-level of communication between our carpenters in the field and our certified fabricators on the floor to meeting project deadlines and delivering an exceptional product, it’s what our customers have come to expect and depend on.”

As Konwinski Cabinets continues to grow, capital improvements like this will ensure they maintain a competitive advantage and retain and attract high-quality talent. Capital improvements are often only made possible because businesses are able to utilize incentives and funding opportunities that help offset the overall cost.

At MMDC, we work with companies like Konwinski Cabinets to help identify appropriate incentives and funding opportunities that support business growth, talent development and job creation in the Middle Michigan region.
